Biblical ethics and Biblical anthropology
People commonly view happiness as an uncertain ? gift of fate? depending on factors beyond our control; this book however argues and affirms the contrary: that happiness in fact nas a "law" Furthermore, religious moral teachings are usually regarded as being a collection of rigid rules in pursuit of some abstract ideal; irrelevant, or even inimical to happiness. This may indeed be true of man-made codes of religious ethics; but the Bible itself presents us with an entirely different moral law. It gives us a marvellous insight and encouragement: Hoppiness does have a law, and its fulfilment can open the way to happiness for everyone!
This book alms to reveal the foundations and the internal logic of the Biblical system of ethics. The eternal universal moral law, the law of happiness, in one pillar of this ethics; while the other pillar is anthropology, or the anthropological approach. The traching of redemption in Christian ethics, which offers a solution to the miseries of man, is bullt on this twin foundation.
